Position Overview:


The Plant Controller will be a key member of the Waukesha Plant Management Team. The Plant Controller is responsible for all financial aspects relating to manufacturing and production of Waukesha product on the site, including maintaining accurate financial records, budgeting, forecasting, analyzing and reviewing financial performance. The Plant Controller is expected to use their knowledge of the financials to drive the Plant performance by helping to set and achieve financial targets. The Plant Controller will also be responsible for developing and maintaining Plant-level financial controls and monitoring compliance with all accounting policies.

Essential Responsibilities: 

  • Provide financial support to production leaders
  • Calculate and maintain standards used to cost production and inventory at the site.
  • Perform production variance analysis when actuals differ from standards, and recommend actions accordingly as needed.
  • Help Plant Management perform production labor planning
  • Execute Factory finance responsibilities in close cooperation with Finance and Accounting teams including: Budgeting, forecasting, analysis, and reporting 
  • Analyze variances to forecasts and proactively communicate explanations to management with recommended actions 
  • Align plant productivity with transparent financial targets over Tools, Supplies, Maintenance, Scrap, Rework, Purchased Services and implement optimization programs 
  • Implement and track cost and working capital optimization programs 
  • Assist the Waukesha team in development of capital project financial justifications. 
  • Provide proactive consultation, interpretation and education of complex financial and operational matters to various departmental leaders used to drive business decisions 
  • Monitor and implement plant internal controls (in conjunction with corporate policies) as necessary to ensure reporting integrity, safeguard company assets, and identify risks 
  • Determine and maintain all accounting principles and processes and ensure compliance to US GAAP regulations. 

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Accounting or Finance 
  • Minimum 5 years of accounting or finance with experience in a manufacturing  environment or a Public Accounting role with a manufacturing client base
  • Strong knowledge of standard costing
  • Oracle experience is a plus 
  • Advanced skills in the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Access, PowerPoint) 
  • Knowledge of budgeting and forecasting techniques as well as proficiency with financial statement analysis and projection 
  • Strong oral and written communication skills 
  • Ability to work autonomously 
  • Ability to anticipate, identify, and resolve complex financial issues while managing multiple tasks 
  • Extensive knowledge of business operations
